The Fall feelings are coming in fast as the winds pick up and the night time temps drop. We hope that you are hunkering down this weekend and staying as cozy as Annie (the dog) is in this photo :)
Onward to the happenings…
September 30th, 4pm-6pm
Patch by Patch Restoration Planting with Westerly Land Trust
An event with Lizzie and Marc is bound to be a sweet one :)
Patch-to-Patch is a program where we host a community event in a place of your choosing, plant habitat-appropriate native plants, and teach participants about their landscape. It is a cost effective way to augment the landscape by introducing or increasing the amount of plant species in a given area. Plant Community will work with you to choose the best plants for your piece of land, provide the plants, and lead the planting day with your organization's group of volunteers to execute the planting.
Sign up to join WLT and Plant Community in augmenting the meadow at Cottrell Family Preserve by planting a variety of native plugs. Fall is one of the best times to plant and we can’t wait to come back next year to track our progress and support native biodiversity.
October 1st, 2pm-6pm
Native Plant Sale in Collab with Hawk & Handsaw Farm
Glen Farm Farmers Market, Portsmouth RI
Kidder and Annie are looking forward to geeking out about plants and chatting about the best options for building out your native plant selection for your garden space or property. We’ll be sending out our Plant Availability list next week.
There will also be an apple celebration happening the same day at the farmers market!
October 3rd, 9am-12pm
Community Planting Day with Sakonnet Preservation
Little Compton, RI
This event is the last event of our 4 part series with the Sakonnet Preservation. We will be planting out the landscape at the True Blood property in Little Compton with natives we had grown from seed in the previous workshops! No participation in the past workshops is necessary to attend the planting day. This is all about gathering together and celebrating our collective design work as a community!
Casey Farm Farmers Market, 8:30-12:30
Canceled this weekend 9/26
We’ll be there for our final market on October 10th if you are looking for any last minute plants for your garden!
Stay safe this weekend. We hope some folks get to the beach and watch these wild waves roll in!
